Keeping your hair alive in the bright summer sun!
It's summertime and you know what that means. That’s right, fried and dried hair! The sun does as much to our hair as it does to our skin, luckily we can help save it from a crispy future. There are plenty of protective things you can do to keep your hair shiny and strong.
First we will start with pool rules. Chlorine is very destructive to a person’s hair but it’s no fun to sit out or constantly be worried your hair will get wet. A simple step is to wet your hair before hand with non chlorinated water. Most public pools have showers you could use and if you’re in your friends back yard there is sure to be a hose somewhere you could barrow. Hair will soak up the water and when the cuticle is full of water it will soak up a lot less chlorine. Kind of like a sponge, if its dry it will soak up as much as possible, if it’s wet it doesn’t take much. Once you are done swimming rise your hair with water once more and then you are good to go on your way.
The next step is protecting it from the sun and UV rays. Not only does it damage your hair it also causes your hair color to fade. This is the most depressing thing after you pay for that brand new color. There are plenty of oils and sprays that you can use. It’s like sunscreen for your hair! The coolest thing is that there are water resistant UV protection hair oils as well, so even at the beach you will be protected all day long.
So we have the protection pretty well right now but there is a classic way to protect your hair that doesn’t involve oils or water. Hats! The most foolproof way to make sure the sun isn’t stripping your hair is to cover it up completely. Take it as a fashion challenge and up your wardrobe game! This will also protect your scalp from the sun as well. Looking cute and being protected? It’s a win-win!
Now you have gone all day with either protecting it or not and you want to know your next step. Conditioner. Conditioners job is to hydrate your hair and make is silky and smooth! So make sure you are using it every other day and leaving it on for 15 minutes to really let it soak in. There are all sorts of great conditioners out there for color, or extra strength, you just have to find the one best for you. Not sure if the conditioner is strong enough to save your hair? Then get a conditioning treatment. This can be bought or done at salons and it really gives your hair back some of the life it lost in the sun.
Lastly and most important you need a fantastic brush! Think about all the knots and damage your hair gets in the summer. Now think about you yanking a cheap brush through all that and ruining your once beautiful hair. It’s enough to make you cry, isn’t it? Tan Mujiang has a variety of amazing brushes that won’t tear out your hair. Feel as beautiful as the brushes look while carefully combing or brushing the beach away. It’s so important that your brush be up to standards in everyday life especially if you have some damage to it. No need for static from a brush to ruin your look or for your long hair to get layers because of damage. The most important thing to remember is that from sun up to sun down your are always moving and you hair gets knotty and frizzy. A high quality brush will save you so much time later on from having to work around split ends or unwanted frizz.
So enjoy the sun and enjoy the summer but remember there are ways to keep your hair picture perfect!
